To understand Kühne’s history, we have to go all the way back to 1722, Berlin. Frederick William I was king of Prussia and Berlin was an aspiring residence. Johannn Daniel Epinius founded a small vinegar distillery which, 40 years later, passed into the hands of Friedrich Wilhelm Kühne, the next in line.

Over the ensuing decades, Kühne became one of Europe’s largest producers of gourmet food and vinegar. Its unique blend of product innovation and long-standing family tradition is no doubt an important factor in the popularity of its selection of fine foods.
